This vignette of cypress (cell-type-specific power assessment), which is specifically designed to perform comprehensive power assessment for cell-type-specific differential expression (csDE) analysis using RNA-sequencing experiments. It could accept real bulk RNA-seq data as the input for parameter estimation and simulation, or use program-provided parameters to achieve the same goal. This flexible tool allows users to customize sample sizes, percentage of csDE genes, number of cell types, and effect size values. Additionally, it computes statistical power, true discovery rate (TDR), and false discovery cost (FDC) under different scenarios as results. The package also offers functions to generate basic line plots illustrating stratified power, TDR and FDC. DE methods that can be used with this tool include TOAST, CeDAR, and DESeq2.
